Cutting out the 5038 Aluminum16 gauge hull segments for my aluminum 21 ft open ocean fishing Kayak. This is the first step in building my kayak if you don't count the math.

  • what type of blade?

  • It's a very narrow carbide tipped blade designed for cutting aluminum. I'd tell you the brand but I have had it for years and wore all the lettering off. Great blade though, I have cut a bunch of sheet aluminum with it to a 1/4 inch and it just keeps going and going.

  • @Zoidberg19790 Yep you got that right., that blade will grab and get thrown right into your lap if your not careful. You have to hold the saw absolutely perfectly steady during the whole cut and that would be very hard to do with a grinder.

  • @AwesomeAlvin

That is absolutely correct, NEVER use and angle grinder with a TOOTHED blade.

They used to use them in the late 70's and early 80's and they ended up with the nick name "Meat Axes". Have a guess why....

  • dont use angle grinder with toothed blades, its spins far too fast

  • hi

\ do the blades come for angle grinders mate ?

    ta

  • Thanks for letting us see this, good to see the Makita saw in action. What model of saw is it?
