Journey, the band, with great acoustics and a great singer. It's a team and every member contributed to its success. How do you like perry singing alone w/o the other members? Why debate on the band's success? The success comes from the collective efforts of the group. Do u think so?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve Perry WAS Journey! But not taking anything away from Neal, who is in my top 5 of great guitarists!

@Edzy1981 YOUR BRAIN IS DEAD

Ofc he did. He transformed Journey from a mediocre rock band to the masters of love ballads. He pretty much wrote all of Journey's albums while he was in the band, including Escape which is their greatest album of all. I really don't think that Schon had it in him to create a band that was so successful without Steve Perry.

@soLuiSta Yes!!! Most respectable employers wouldn't be permitted to do what Journey did to Steve. There's no way that my employer (University of FL) could dictate when I had to get surgery. We have had many employees who've needed knee or hip replacements but it would be totally against State of FL employee rules for any supervisor to tell them they had to do it in order to keep their job. It's ridiculous, and just plain WRONG! A hip replacement is a major surgery & pretty scary to have done.

Why waste your time typing the same thing over and over again? There are a lot of musicians on youtube that I don't comment on because I don't particularly like them. There is no point to your comment at all!!!

Steve Perry. the BEST singer ever. Steve made Journey famous. Love you Steve!
I think they have forgotten this....and NOW don't seem to appreciate what Steve Perry brought to the band!!! IF THEY DID..... Neal Schon wouldn't still be talking trash about him!!!! Neal Schon is so Green with envy, otherwise why would he keep running his mouth about him? Steve Perry now....he is ALWAYS... a gentleman and never says anything bad about the new Journey. When he comments...he wishes them well. Neal, don't you think it's about time you stepped up and be a man too.

@rockofhysteria That comment was taken out of context. Perry explained this in a seperate interview. He meant IN THE BEGINING he felt like an outsider because the band was already like a family and he was the NEWEST memner and felt like the outside guy. VH1 edited that out, and when it was shown to the rest of the band, they thought it was a joke. They didnt know Steve had said" IN THE BEGGINING" either.
