@BritNostalgia Good point. I can actually remember the filming of the documentary, and the fella being obsessed with the Black Dogs (a Maryport teenage biker gang). I left Maryport in 1987 and do think that the town has lost a lot of its old rugged charm. I always took pride in its dock full of silt and its coal wash etc, it remained as a testament to its industrial heritage. Now it just like they have tried to 'ponsify' the town with european money.

@maryportfc I think it was a bit more miserable in '79 than it is today, but it should be noted that the 1979 film was actually shot during the winter of 1978, which would make it look gloomy, plus it was shot on film and the stuff I did was on a HD camera.

this is gr8..but dont do maryport down its a great place to live, where, still to this day ppl look out for their friends and pop in on their neighbors and smile at each other on the street or say gooday to ppl we barely know...we have it good compared ta uther places..nivvermind' as me granda ust ta say lol i cudnt imagine liven anywhere els!
