  • her spirals are like sasha cohen's!

  • omg i wish i had her spiral!!

  • Beautiful position!

  • @EmmikaYU Push off with your left toe when jumping to your right toe. I teach my students to hop over the hockey lines. Skate with your left to the line, hop over it onto your right toe, push off on your left. The push off your left toe is more important than your swing-through.

  • Sasha Cohen eat your heart out!

  • @EmmikaYU So, if you're starting with your left leg as the skating leg, you will have your right arm in front. As you kick through, you switch the position (right leg will be in front, so left arm is out, right is behind). Then, you switch them BACK to the original position when you land on the original free leg. The momentum of the arms and getting a decent "hop" off the legs should prevent you from moving backwards. Keeping the knees bent helps as well. I hope this helps.

  • @EmmikaYU With that in mind, you sorta hop from the toepick of the original skating leg, to the other leg that just hit the ice. With the leg that just hit the ice, you actually "hop" off of that foot, so that you are temporarily airbourne (yay!), and then land on the flat of the blade of the opposite foot. Basically, it sorta looks like a skip, with the extra thought of landing back onto the skating leg. Arm wise, it's an "opposite arm/opposite leg" idea.

  • @EmmikaYU I just started learning these, so I'll try to explain it. You have to use both toe picks. In terms of the leg motion, you start on one foot (such as a one foot glide), and kick through using a swinging/stepping motion (think of going up some step) with the free leg. This motion should cause you to go on your toe pick on your skating leg. However, it doesn't have to be super far forward. About a split second later, the toe pick from your free leg should touch the ice.
