@MrTruth111 Yes, we cannot truly forgive others until we understand the magnitude of the forgiveness available to us in Christ and receive it for ourselves. Then we can rejoice and say, "Freely we have received, therefore, we can freely give"! May your relationship with your parents florish as it is influenced by His unfathomable, unconditional love!
It is difficult to forgive others especially people close, like parents. My experience is that the hardship and unrightfull actions of my parents and the pain and trouble they caused played a part in my longing and searching for Jesus. There is a place for injustice, a place for pain, and a place for release and salvation. I forgave my parents after a period of bad contact. Now I focus on the good things they did and try to establish a fruitfull relationship. thanks Lord Jesus, Lord of Lords
