In February 2008, more than 1500 human trafficking experts, campaigners, celebrities, politicians, and diplomats gathered in Austria for the Vienna Forum on Human Trafficking -- sponsored by UN.GIFT -- www.ungift.org UN.GIFT was launched in March 2007 by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) with a grant made on behalf of the United Arab Emirates.
It is managed in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO); the International Organization for Migration (IOM); the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF); the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR); and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
UNGIFT is a global alliance of United Nations organisations, NGOs, charities, private sector companies, and foundations committed to fighting human trafficking in all its forms, which include -- sex slaves, forced labour, child soldiers, human organ trafficking, and many other examples of modern-day slavery. This video is set to the music of Ukrainian pop star, Ruslana, who performed live in the closing ceremony of the Vienna Forum with her song 'Not For Sale'.
