Here's the inaugural Skippy the Skeptic video in which we'll try to do just a little bit of thinking about prayer.

  • If you dont believe why would you go through the trouble of proving a pontless topic?

Ther must be a reason a person would worry about being correct or not.

  • Isn't this kind of like telling a math teacher that he must be insecure about how addition works whenever he marks an answer wrong on your homework? After all, why would he "go through the trouble of proving" it? Jeeze.

  • Is math a point less topic. What I think is pointless is people like you who go out of there way to prove somthing you dont even know anything about. If you did you would have a different clue.

Prayer is only understandable to those who have the spirit. Those who don't are only confused which cuases them to act foolish and no offense you are acting foolish.

  • I love the way you claim that the only people qualified to discuss prayer are people who agree with you. If you think you can rebut my arguments then by all means do so, but popping up and calling me foolish isn't especially informative. Otherwise I'll be forced to assume that you -don't- actually have a cogent rebuttal to my position.

  • It's pointless to argue over something like this, the bible says that people who are called will understand, obviously your not. So I could go verse for verse on prayer, give hundreds of proven moments where prayer changed things, and even give you documented medical cases where medical science was baffled by prayer. But you and I both know you wouldnt accept any of it as true. Well, God bless you, I hope one day Jesus helps you.

  • The Lord of Hosts in the one true God. So when you pray to a cat nothing happens because he is not the one true God. When you say "natural phenomenon" are you aware that the Lord of Hosts created everything in this world and beyond it. He controls everything. What you're really saying is that you don't believe in the one true God. He loves you though. A love that surpasses human comprehension. I'm happy your asking questions though because you're seeking. Pray with a sincere heart to him.

  • Excellent video. I couldn't have said it better myself. I've been a Christian for over 25 years so I think I know a few things about prayer. This was one of the tipping points for me as it's such a fundamental aspect of a Christian world view. The reality is that nothing ever changed in my life that couldn't be attibuted to natural occurence. I just couldn't keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

  • Okay skippydo

  • I really love how atheists don't consider their "belief without a shadow of a doubt" to be faith. And along that line of thinking, some people (myself included) characterize atheism as a religion, in and of itself. That said, if atheism is a religion, doesn't it sort of debunk everything that they claim to believe?

This is all just my opinion, though. Skippy, if you ever see this, I'd enjoy seeing more vids on these sorts of topics!
