● JACO PASTORIUS Havona 1975 ●

my little hommage to another well know version of Jaco's composition Havona. This one was recorded in 1975 before it was released on Weather Report Heavy Weather album. Herbie Hancock on piano Jaco Pastorius bass, and Lenny White on drums.

Holy crap, can't believe this version exists. I've spent hours listening to WR version. Really like Herbie's voicings here.

I'm totally amazed with this. THANKSA so much for posing. My guess is the drums are played by Bobby Economou, the piano maybe by Alex Darqui and the handdrums and other perc might be the late Don Charles Alias - does any of you cats have any knowledge. This is GREAT MUSIC - thak you so very much!

I have read that Jaco auditioned for the bass chair in Tony William's New Lifetime band. This would have been recorded a little bit after that time. Great version. Thanks for posting!
