Living Out

A group of us went down to the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica and started up some conversations with the people who are "living out" in the area. We talked about their past, their future, and their current situation. We also got some insight into the kinds of things they need on a day to day basis. If you want the answer and don't want to watch the movie...coffee and socks. We actually got backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, flashlights, socks, and duct tape - It was a blast!

No - not THAT cool. They are some packs I got from eBay. They didn't have a brand name, but they did have a built in rain-fly.

Nice job guys at least you let nice people be viewed as good humans unlike most efforts on youtube! It's sad but many of the shelters are un popular with homeless. Gangs in them, disease, nothing to do, sleep from midnight to 5 am and out. Any shetter is great effort anything but the laws are insane. In the land of the free if a person wishes to brave the park or ocean beach on a lawn chair o& sleep well crap let him.

If someone is JUST going to sleep, clean up after themselves, and not hurt anyone - it seems ok to let them do it. The impression I got from Santa Monica specifically is that it is more of an image thing which could affect local business. It sure would be cool if videos like these could change the public's perception of the homeless so they would NOT detract from business and just coexist with shoppers.

now we get into law and police!.

california law dosen't require police to report what they do to the the NEWS or each department! So it's what ever goes! it's full of money laws and judges. Police are drawn to any car or person or car that isn't clean cut like themselves. Guess it's just like the 1800's

representation by taxation. Nice comment very true I traveled the world for 4 Years spen t time in santa monica passing through
