Dec. 10, 2007 — Vick is sentenced to 23 months in federal prison for convictions of animal abuse. This first-round draft pick who had all the potential in the world suddenly had everything crumble down around him. PETA and the Humane Society protested his hearing calling for the death penalty. Things were looking very dark for Michael Vick. All of a sudden, a glimmer of hope appeared. After being released from prison and being re-instated to the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles sign Vick in 2009 to be a back-up quarterback. Throughout the season, Vick made appearances in several games, slowly building his reputation back both on and off the field. On September 12th, Kevin Kolb went down against the Packers with a concussion making Michael Vick the starter. From there, the rest is history.

I do not own the rights to the footage. They belong solely to their owners. Special thanks to NBC, ESPN, FOX, and the Humane Society for their footage.

  • @Irene211084 Hitler killed over 9 million innocent people just because of what they believed in, you cannot even compare that to Vick. Michael has no evidence or case against him ever harming the dogs. They were bred by the people who came to his house, he only hosted the events. Your argument is against the murder of dogs by Vick, though in many Asian countries they kill them for meals. Maybe you should redirect your words toward them. Vick is making more of a difference than PETA ever did.

  • @Irene211084 There is no evidence that Michael Vick ever killed any of the dogs. He hosted the fights, was convicted, lost $120 million, declared bankruptcy, served prison time and is making a difference to help PETA educate the nation and children about taking care of their animals. The inability to forgive is the inability to love. Murderers get away all the time with murdering people, Vick served his time and will not be forgiven my many, but he's making more of a difference now than ever.
