Deuce and a Half in West Melbourne Florida

Out for a Sunday Drive in my Deuce with my son Daniel Broadbent near Interstate 95 in West Melbourne. Not much open land like this anymore - several homeless tents were seen in the area so we didn't stay too long!

It WAS fun - the area no longer exists like it was in this video. Developers went in and bulldozed everything - it is now a parking lot and soon to be another strip mall.

I will definitely be buying one of these things. Have you tried running any other fuels (other than diesel) through it?

This has a "multifuel" turbo diesel in it and there are only a few limitations as to the type of fuel you can use. I have put gas and #2 fuel oil in there so far but you can even burn Used Motor Oil (UMO) if it is filtered down to 1 micron. Waste Veggie Oil (WVO) can also be used once it is filtered down to 5 microns and heated to about 170 degrees.

I knew about the multifuel, I'm seriously considering getting one of these as soon as I'm able, I was just wondering if you had tried running it on gasoline, kerosene, or any mixture of diesel, gas, and kerosene. I didn't know about the used motor oil and veggie oil though. How hard do you think it would be to pull a bit more power out of it without sacrificing any reliability?

If you go to a website known as SteelSoldiers, you will find many testimonials about the use of various fuels in the M35A2 deuce and a half with the multifuel engine. If you decide to buy one of these trucks you will want to become a member of the SteelSoldier website - it's free by the way. I have only used diesel in mine but tried some #2 fuel oil with no difficulties at all.

I bought the truck locally from a guy who was once in the Austrian Army and drove a Deuce and a Half as his military job. I paid a lot more than I should have for the truck which needed tires amongst othere things immediately. I installed power steering, a new canvas cargo cover, new tires, convoy lights and a 'C' "whistler" turbo on the truck to bring it up to standards. I have well over $12K in it right now. Well worth the investment especially during the hurricane season here in Florida!
