Its barbaric with all out medical wonders to deny somebody a treatment. Why do people with money deserve to live more than poor people? Does that sound ethical to you? Does that sound civilized to you? Maybe you don't think you have the right to be healthy and think you are inferior to people with money but its not true. Every human life is valuable. You may be healthy now, but what about when you are older? Treatments are out there, and no one should have the right to deny a sick person health

The idea of a "right" to health insurance comes from morality. Is it ok to let someone die when we are perfectly capable of saving them just because they don't have enough money? Insurance companies are doing this by denying people's claims because of bull shit pre existing conditions, and hospitals are refusing to provide treatment to these people. It is morally wrong, and that is one reason why we need to fix our health care system.

The 'No healthcare is freedom!' nonsense is part of what I call 'religious capitalism'.

Some people (most libertarians are great examples) hold up laissez-faire capitalism with religious reference. (Even though in practice it FAILS, and it fails HARD. (Hence the deregulated banks needing that taxpayer bailout.)

What can I say... deregulation in economics demonstrably showed NOT to work. Deregulate and you'll feel it in the taxes when more bailouts are needed. Simple as that.

That is the definition of Freedom for Representative King? People have the Freedom to not have access to healthcare. If you asked those uninsured people, if you had complete Freedom to choose health insurance or not to have health insurance, which would you choose? Is their lack of health insurance their free choice?

I'm from S.C. where racism if still rampant....I remember when hospitals serving african americans didn't even stock linen for their patients and told me, as a nurse, to use the same washcloth on everyone!! That was in 1960 and I think it would still happen if they could get away with it. Glad to be out of S.C.
