Rock climbing limestone often requires the descent of very dangerous scree fields, or broken down boulder fields, beginning at the base of the cliff. The severity of this type of hiking or scrambling requires acute attention to detail and extremely carefully placed footing. One small slip will usually lead to a massive rock slide avalanche, instantly burying everyone involved. On rare occasions, smaller sized rocks lodge themselves between the climbers sock and sole, causing excruciating pain which usually will lead to a required foot amputation within a few hours. This instructional video demonstrates the proper methods of descending such a field.
