In October 2006, homelessness and housing activists from Toronto, Canada travelled to New York City, in the United States, to compare government approaches to addressing homelessness. This video shows some highlights of their tour.
While New York officials claim there are no longer any homeless in their city, and Toronto officials consider importing a NYC-style 'clear-the-streets' approach to poverty and the homeless, advocates find there is more eviction, hardship and homelessness than anyone wishes to see or admit--and many people who wish to speak that are rarely heard and too often ignored.
