  • Eisner was only acting on the advice of then-Disney president Mike Ovitz, who visited the park in 1994 and recommended that the submarine ride be closed permanently -- after park employees deliberately sabotaged the ride by putting Ovitz in a noisy, badly running sub full of mildew and standing water. Disney World workers hated the ride because it was a bitch to maintain, and they weren't sad to see it go. The only losers were the public.

Oh, have you got a thing about Jews?

  • Walt wouldn't have let it happen. Too bad he's gone :(

  • i drove the last sub the night it closed. those subs were ready to retire and would cost way too much to redo plus envirmental concerns over diesel leaking into the ground didnt help.there was word about the finding nemo ride being placed there but never happened. i do miss working there...

  • Looks weird when theirs no water

  • @Tampajoe77 yah i know :"(

  • @scotpens Agreed, Eisner gets too much crap for his so-called "ruining of Disney". Sure he did make a few bad decisions and was forced out by Roy, but he bought so many positives than negatives to the ailing parks!

  • Today, these submarines would be the absolute shit.. especially if it stayed closed for a while, instead of demolished.. as it was.

  • @john19732009 Your friend was right up until a point. They stripped them down, packed 'em up and buried them in 2003. And 20 years at the Mansion? Your friend should have transfered to MK East and driven subs like a man instead of loading sweaty tourists into big black bubbles!

  • the subs are in dry dock i was told by a cast member that has been at the haunted mansion for 20 years

  • @ManEatingSharks If you could just hook a generator up to him, and maybe the Founding Fathers too, we'd solve ALL the USA's power problems!

  • @ManEatingSharks lol right on.

  • @ragingharlot13 He's been rolling in his grave for the last two decades now. God only knows what RPM he's at just now.
