D&H GP38-2 switching in Mohawk Yard

this work train came to Mohawk after its work run. then set out a car, reconnected to it's train, and pulled into the yard for the night

Where is the Mohawk Yard?

Mowhawk yard is about 5 minutes from Schnectady New York. If you go down freeman's bridge road towards the wal-mart, you'll see a stewarts on your right. take a right there onto Maple Ave. the yard will be on your right. Its small, being ony about 7 or 8 tracks but there is always some cool power there.

that locomotive is now operating out of the CP Rail yard in the Port of Albany

thanks for the name on that yard I have passed through there several times on the Adirondak a few times as a regular passenger on the Amtrak train but alot on the rear on a private railcar and have seen that D&H unit I assume CP is keeping it around for a reason nonetheless its great to see an origional D&H lightining stripe unit survive in service and hell I cannot ever spell that New York town right on here in comments LOL
