David: (Walks over to Cody and punches him in the face) Youre a sick, twisted excuse for a man.
Cody: (Catches himself from falling after David hit him, and runs out of the gym)
Demi: (Slowly opens her eyes and lets out a sigh of relief) Oh, my god, David.
David: Its okay Demi, hes gone.
Demi: (Slowly stands up and puts her tied hands in front of David) Could you?
David: (Nods and unties her hands) Of course.
Demi: (Steps into his chest, still shaking a bit, and whispers) Thank you.
David: (Wraps his arms around her, trying his best to comfort her) Come on, lets go.
*David and Demi walked out of the gym, only to meet up back outside with Miley and Selena*
Selena: (Hugs Demi) Are you okay?
Demi: (Nods) David got there in time.
Miley: (Hugs David) Thank god.
Selena: Where is he?
David: He left.
Selena: (Mad) You let him get away?!
Demi: (Pulls away from the hug) What was he supposed to do?
Miley: Kill him.
David: (Shocked) Miley!
Miley: Okay, fine. Just hurt him really bad.
Demi: (Shakes her head) Theres no use. We just need to move on.
Selena: We did that last time and look where we are now.
David: Theyre right.
Demi: Anything that you guys are thinking of doing, stop. Its not going to solve anything. Please?
Selena: Fine.
Miley: Whatever you say Demi.
David: Of course.
*Joe and Nick walk outside, angrily. At the same time, they noticed Demi standing with Miley, Selena and David. Demi looked in their direction and started to run towards them, with the other following her*
Demi: (Runs to Joe and hugs him, with tears in her eyes) JOE!
Joe: (Hugs her tight) Demi! Babe, are you okay?
Nick: (Looks away, trying not to think about what he and Demi had shared not too long ago. Trying not to think that it was his fault this just happened to her. Trying to think about something other than her)
Demi: (Notices Nick, avoiding eye contact, steps out of the hug and looks at Joe) I am. Thanks to David.
Joe: (Kisses her forehead, then looks at David) Thanks, man.
David: (Smiles and nods) No problem.
Demi: We should probably get to class.
Selena: Are you sure, Dem?
Miley: We dont mind taking you home.
Demi: (Shakes her head) Like I said, we need to move on, and thats exactly what we are going to do.
Joe: (Sighs) Fine, lets go.
David: Alright (Takes Mileys hand and walks her inside of the school)
Selena: (Takes Nicks hand and starts to pull him in the direction of the school)
Demi: Actually, Joe, Sel, do you mind if I talk to Nick before I go back inside?
Selena: (Slightly confused) Uh, yeah, okay (Walks inside)
Joe: (Confused, also) Ill see you inside, Dem (Kisses her cheek and walks inside)
Nick: (Still not looking at her)
Demi: (Steps over to him)
Nick: (Looks up, avoiding eye contact) Did he hurt you?
Demi: (Shakes her head) Not this time.
Nick: Im glad youre okay.
Demi: Why wont you look at me?
Nick: Because what just happened is my fault.
Demi: What are you talking about, your fault?
Nick: (Sighs and looks back to the ground) If I had never gotten into a fight with him, everyone would have left me alone and not let him in after you. Im sorry I wasnt able to stop him.
Demi: (Shakes her head and lifts his head forcing him to look at her) Its not your fault, Nick. You were only trying to protect me, and if I had a guess, it was you who sent David after me. It was you who knew what was going on, wasnt it?
Nick: (Nods)
Demi: You cant ever stop protecting me. And Ill try the best to do the same for you.
Nick: I wont, Demi. I care about you too much.
Demi: (Sighs) I care about you too. But I love your brother. And you love my best friend. You know we have to tell them what happened. Last night and today.
Nick: I know.
Demi: (Hugs him, feeling uncontrollably comfortable in his arms)
Nick: (Hugs back, only to feel the same) You know this has to stop.
Demi: (Sighs and pulls away) I do.
Nick: Because it only makes what I feel seem so much worse.
Demi: (Nods her head) For me too.
Nick: Can we please go inside now?
Demi: Yes.
*Nick and Demi walked inside in silence. The rest of the day went by rather quickly, seeing as how half of the day was basically already over.*
