I couldn't wait to try out my new Desert Rose "Vintage Pro" pedal steel guitar on a video. Chuck Back built this blonde birdseye maple and chrome beauty and it's awesome! So here's an arrangement I did of an old Buddy Emmons favorite, "Rose Colored Glasses". Of course, nobody can play it like Buddy, but I love the song and enjoy playing it! I shot the video with 2 cameras so you can see the top and bottom of the guitar at the same time. I haven't seen another steel guitar video done this way so I hope you enjoy it!

  • it doesn't look as if your fingers are anywhere near the lower tone strings, yet it sounds like it? Do you do a custom stringing? Sounds awesome, that warm western breeze sound> Nice

  • @superorangeish It's a beautiful guitar, handmade by Desert Rose's Chuck Back himself. I don't have any special strings or setup - it's pretty much straight out of the box. It is made from very nice blonde amber birdseye maple wood though, which I'm sure affects the tone as you described - sounds way better than my last one which was mostly metal. Thanks for listening & thanks for your support!
