  • @islandmuffin The peer-reviewed research was published in May 2010 issue of the Econ Journal Watch (EJW), edited by Daniel B. Klein.

Seven Nobel laureates are members of the EJW Advisory Council.

  • sorry love. i'm swedish. i know how it is to be raised in a functional society that combines a nurturing welfare state with freedom and enterprise. and keynesian economics is a gentle middle way that works for the common good unlike americas predator capitalism. about taxes we should ask WHAT they get spent on, how transparent the process is and how much control we have over how our money is used.

  • this claim is debatable, at best. we have STILL not paid the bill for the new deal. And it is often argued that the new deal, as an experiment, was insufficient to prove OR disprove keynesianism, anyway. you can add japan's recession to the list of economic "experiments" with ambiguous results.

  • classic talkshow tactics: Stack two guys who agree with you againt the least qualified of the dupes willing to be on your show. Bold. Anyway, my cursory examination is that i agree with prof. holmlund. But congratulations to the social programmers, you have a "milton friedman" for your generation. I hope there will be NO opposition to your great plans so that we me see their unequivocal results. Tax, deficit spend, inflate, deficit spend, tax, etc..

  • god I hate the right wing

  • We didn't win any of them thar thangs so they are rigged.

  • taxation in the form of the new deal got the usa out of the great depression!

  • I don't care for them...but I do think we should all give a fuck about them because they have managed to shape and direct a great deal of US foreign and domestic policies since Ronald Reagan....many with disastrous effects.

At least we should give enough of a fuck to keep them out of power and marginalize them.
