*2011 Mercedes has just turned 9 Years Old & passed ARCT Violin Performer's Diploma Exam (ARCT is the highest performing standings awarded by The Royal Conservatory of Music) Mercedes is also the youngest one in the history of the Royal Conservatory of Music to pass ARCT (Age 9) & Grade 10 violin exam (Age 7) with "first class honours
*Mercedes has been admitted to the Juilliard School of Music Pre-College Division-Young Talented Program 2010 as the youngest (Age 8) winner Mercedes currently studies with Ephraim Cheung(Music Director of Markham Symphony) and Donald Weilerstein(Faculty of Juilliard School & New England Conservatory, Dorothy Richard Starling Chair)
*Mercedes has been Invited by Farley Flex(Judges of Canadian Idol )to solo violin at the DURHAM INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL July 16 -18, 2010.
**Mercedes Currently using 1/2 Size Violin; In her Six Years Recital she was using 1/4 violin**

One of my favourite pieces played by the great Heifetz..... And no doubting her talent but how does she have time to be a child? Must spend hours practicing.

I'm not here to bash Little Ms. Cheung, but I know I'm right when I say that ALL MEN ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL! A hardworking violinist can still take years just to master one of the hardest pieces when some little 3 year old can already play it with his/her pinky! All my dreams have been crushed because of the prodigies. I know I probably can get somewhere, but becoming the next Itzhak Perlman? I'm no prodigy so there's no hope. Life is truly UNFAIR. Maybe God just has a horrible sense of humor.

All men are created equal? FUCK THAT SHITTY ASS QUOTE! An extremely hard working violinist can still take years to master some insanely hard piece and then some damn prodigy will come out of their mommy, pick up a violin and start playing it with just his/her pinky. I mean, look.
