This video illustrates the Yuvad fingerprint technology and how it is used to create content-aware local advertising solution. In this example, the left screen contains the original national programming with TV commercials. The right screen contains local overlays that dynamically changes to track the original TV commercial content, so that local information (dealer phone number, store promotion, local addresses) can be displayed concurrently with the ongoing commercial.
Why is this technology important?
First of all, advertisers now, for the first time, can be sure that their ad is associated with the right type of content. In other words, the content showing together with their ad will not create negative brand impact. True, many people maybe viewing a video content, but do you, as an advertiser, want to put your ad on that video? Think of some of the notorious viral videos.
Secondly, when the original video content is a national commercial, localized overlay can greatly strengthen the effectiveness of the commercial because highly correlated local information is added to the national commercials.
