Myles ~ Super Mario 64 - Rematch With Koopa 0'00"0

Background:

This video was recorded on April 10th 2006. I've got a lot to say about this one.

Sometime in November 1998, when I was just a boy, I told David Wonn I knew how to get zero seconds for "Rematch With Koopa the Quick".

David said something like, "How would you do that? What would delay the text message until the flagpole?"

I told David that it's possible to land on the Koopa Shell, and he said, "I never noticed, is the shell still down there during the race?" I told him that the shell is there.

Then in December 1998, somehow gaming legend Steven Zwartjes found out about this idea and became the first player ever to beat "Rematch With Koopa the Quick" in zero seconds. Steven either discovered the idea himself or David told him about it.

David heard about Steven's accomplishment before I did, so he immediately began playing and eventually got zero seconds himself, making him the second player to do this.

Then in January 1999, David told me that Steven and himself had already gotten zero seconds. Disappointing. After David told me this, I got zero seconds and became the third person. What a pitty.

If there's anything I learned from this (and other experiences like this one), it would be that I need to keep these ideas to myself and practice them until I succeed.

@r4rev yes the ds version is very different, instead of just playing as mario, you play as wario mario luigi and yoshi, some of the stars are also different, such as the boss lvls.
