Fantasia: 'Lady Marmalade' @ Patti LaBelle UNCF Tribute "An Evening of Stars" 2008

This audio file was recorded at the UNCF benefit 30th Anniversary "An Evening of Stars" 'Tribute To Patti LaBelle' that took place at the Kodak Theatre Los Angeles on Sept. 13, 2008. The Evening was taped and broadcast on BET, WGN-National, and other local channels on JAN. 24 & 25, 2009.

Fantasia Barrino blew the roof off with this first of her two performances that evening, and surprised everyone by going out into the audience and singing part of the song side-by-side with Ms. Patti, who appeared to be blown away like the rest of us!

Note: At the start, you hear Sheila E. introducing Fantasia... (Sheila had us laughing so hard when the show's director asked her to start the intro over, and she said she knew how to do it: "This ain't my first barbeque!"... He said: "That's for sure!")

I was lucky enough to be at this extraordinary show and recorded this and every performance of the evening on a great little digital recorder..

I'm so glad that you all are loving this and the other audio files.. Thanks again to the generous Jojo from Atlanta who turned my audio files into videos!

And since they cut off Fantasia's version of "Somebody Loves You" on the TV broadcast, you can hear the whole amazing song (as well as others that didn't make it) on my audio recording...

Fantasia brought the house down and walked on it!!!! Gave me chills. Best performance I seen by her so far.
