At the Woodlands Cross Country Course, March 2008.

This was the second day of the Jim Graham clinic I went to! Sorry for the horrible audio at points. Dakota [the grey] and I were in the Beginner Novice class, and it was the first clinic [much less Jim Graham clinic] we'd ever been to.
So please be nice with your comments. :)

We had tons of fun, and Dakota and I improved BUNCHES, which was the important thing.
Okay, take away the 32 degree weather at seven in the morning, and we had even MORE fun! lol.

Be sure to watch the part II video as well - it gets kind of interesting there! :P
And I added the music to make the quiet parts more exciting. I promise I didn't cover up any of Jim Graham yelling at me! haha.

  • lol, you are are really fast o.O esp. for beg. novice... he's really strung out the whole time. Good job though... but you really scare me with your speed xD

  • Yeah... well, most of our warm up jumps were galloping jumps. And I was listening to Jim Graham yelling at me for faster/slower the whole time, so yeah. haha. When he said "gallop," I galloped. :] Then he gets excited, and much more forward so for the banks up/down we had to work at slowing down.

And collection is our biggest issue. But Jim told me I should have been in his novice class, so yeah. We were much more collected the first day, with the show jumps.

  • well, I'm a baby when it comes to speed and jumps o.O I can't canter a course to save my life xD I made my horse jump 3ft from a trot D: I think I cantered my first XC course but trotted up to the jumps, my heart was pounding so much, I don't really remember.. it was GAG though XD me+speed+jumps=baby and yeah, you guys look like you should of been Novice, it's always good to school higher than you show anyways.

  • :] I used to be that way, but now I don't mind the speed. Certain jumps if you don't go fast, you don't get over. :P hah.

And I probably would have done novice, but I actually took a last minute drop out's place, and he paid for half of my clinic fee. So, beginner novice it was! haha. :]

  • wheres the xc lol ??

  • Well, this video was a lot of the warm up in the beginning. But we were on the xc course the whole time.

The actual jumping starts at 1:40.

The fun stuff starts at 4:30.

  • hahah! well, in that case, I would of done it too! And i totally understand, I'm just afraid my new horse will go into that ex-race horse mode.. my first horse was too lame to go any further than 2', so I just have to be patient I guess xD He loves jumping though, it's a shame :/ well maybe next time he comes through, you can do novice? you'd have to get a video too!
