  • Yes, and the term "for ever" in Revelation 5 is "aion". The word "aion" means "age". "From aion to aion", or "from age to age", or "a long period of time", or "until you're gone". Very simple. Also, you have to remember that the Greek language is a pagan language. When Hebrews wrote in Greek, they looked for possible words to replace their Hebrew thoughts, but at times it proved difficult. So when reading Greek, you have to think and have the mind of a Hebrew Dictionary. Very simple. :)

  • I agree with what you say. It makes sense. Just like the book of Moses that tells the Israelites it is forever, but the book of Moses was nailed to the cross with Jesus (not the commandments though). So technically that forever was til Christ freed us from it. (Though I believe in the new millenium we will do the book of Moses again forever, as they are a shadow of things to come.) Thanks and God Bless You.

  • I saw an interesting lesson about "Sheol". The Hebrews called the place where they burned all there trash "Sheol". It burned day and night...

  • @459triple3 Just off the top of my head, it says in verse 10 of Rev 20 that the lake of fire and brimstone will torment the beast and the false prophet day and night forever and ever. I'm pretty sure that's why people think hell will last forever. So now just need to investigate if the wicked will go there or just the beast and false prophet.

  • Amen! great teaching, It's good to hear someone teaching the truth.

  • @jimcarrey2 The gnashing of teeth that the Bible speaks of is the wicked cursing God. When Jesus returns, the He shall bring sin to an end. There shall be no more sin in God's universe.....ANYWHERE. If the wicked live for all eternity blaspheming God, isn't sin then eternally allowed to continue? You cannot take all that the Bible has to say about what happens in hell and make it eternal punishing and still have the Bible agreeing with itself. You would make God a liar if you did.

  • @jimcarrey2 The Bible says in Malachi 4:3 that the wicked shall be ashes under the feet of the righteous. That can happen if the fire ends after devouring everything. If can't happen if they never turn to ashes but keep burning without being consumed. Death is death. It is not continued living. Everlasting contempt does not mean eternal punishing. What is contempt? Is it not an attitude toward something? Does a man have to be alive for people to have contempt for him? i.e Hitler.

  • @jimcarrey2 If fire comes from God on the earth (Rev 20:9), and God will make a new heaven and a new earth so that the meek can inherit the earth (Isaiah 66:22-33), how can He do so with the earth on fire for all eternity? The lake of fire burns right here on planet earth. It can't burn for all eternity for eternal punishing and God not make himself a liar by not allowing the meek to inherit the earth. I can burn for a time for an eternal punishment though.
