What does collaboration really mean? What does it mean for your business? Why you should care? The answers are here.

More about this video:
More about this video:
This video provides a solid, clear definition of collaboration for a non-technical audience.

In preparation for the launch of Cisco's new corporate website in early 2011, we developed a series of videos, this being one, focused on our main areas of business. As these videos get shared and viewed, our hope is that they will not only show our relevance in these areas, but also provide a better understanding of why you should care about these areas of technology. These are videos that serve not only to educate those outside the tech industry, but also influencers - whether they be investors, analysts, media, or business leaders - who are looking for solid, creative ways to explain the techiest of tech topics in simple terms. Enjoy!

Yo dawg ((quickly)), check this out. The other day I'm on a WebEx meeting with my team - I'm talking to people from all over the world. And I can see them, and they can see me in high-quality video, and I'm showing them documents in real time - technology totally unleashed - and it's awesome.

You clearly have no idea what I'm talking about. Alright, I'll throw you a bone. Check this out.

This is our world, and it's increasingly connected. Smart companies are using collaboration tools like TelePresence, enterprise social software, unified communications and mobile apps to bring people together.

Eighty percent of companies see positive ROI on their collaboration technologies.

And a 4-hundred percent return on their collaboration investments.

But to have this kind of really effective collaboration you need a solid network. A network-centered approach to collaboration using the cloud gets you all the benefits of inter operability, security and mobility - on any phone, device, or any computer -- anywhere, so finally, we can do things the way we want to do them.

And then ... you have all these super cool integrated applications that can really set you ahead of the pack like immersive video,

and fixed mobile convergence. Collaboration leaders in areas like healthcare and ...

Right Sparky. And all other verticals. Good boy.
