Service: Indeed. I'm taking you back to my brother.
Shintaro: And if I say no?
Service: Then, by force...
Shintaro: ARASHIYAMA!
Arashiyama: Friendship power! Here goes!
Shintaro: GANMA-HOU!
Arashiyama: Gokurakuchou no Mai!
Arashiyama: Did we get 'em?
Shintaro: Not yet, don't let up. GANMA-HOU!
Arashiyama: Tch, what a pain...
Papuwa: Yay! Fireworks!
Shintaro: I hate you guys.
Arashiyama: Shintaro-han!

Where did you manage to get this? I've wanted the original Papuwa anime for ages, but can never find it. This one was so much better than the new series... I wish ADV had picked this up instead. Even better, that a company would pick up the original manga! Any chance of you sharing more videos like this?

I got the DVDs off Yahoo!Japan Auctions and recorded footage from them using a video capture device. Honestly? It won't explain any of the events that PaPuWa refers to in its background. This TV series ends right before the turning point where the manga story gets really intense, so I don't know if I'd call it a worthwhile purchase for PaPuWa fans, but feel free to browse Yahoo!Japan if you're interested.

Wait, if this is Shintaro, then how does this series end? What about the destruction of the first Papuwa Island? What about Liquid or Kotaro?

Short answer: In the TV version, Shintaro just gets picked up and taken off the island after some bittersweet farewells.

Long answer: That's only the halfway point for the manga, which continues on past that point and delves into a lot more family drama.

I remember the 4coma Dragon Quest, it was a simple book with lots of other DQ 4 Coma artist along with Shibata Ami.

That was in the late 80s early 90s, i'm sure it is a rare find even in Japan now.

@Johnny2071 The anime doesn't actually give the full story, sadly. The original manga, however, goes fully in-depth, especially into the Ganma-dan and the family. With it being an older manga, I doubt a publisher would pick it up. It's a shame, though- the manga is one of the best I've ever read, even if it is utterly insane and convoluted and makes no sense half the time. xD
