Reggie Collier was the first quarterback in NCAA history to run and pass for over 1,000 yards in a single season. One of the first true dual threat quarterbacks, Collier was ahead of his time. If you haven't had the opportunity to see him play. you are in for a treat. At 6'5" tall, and true sprinter's speed, you'll enjoy watching this part one video.
I remember watching Reggie Collier play and got to meet him once. Amazing quarterback and fun to watch.

Brett was Brett and Reggie was Reggie. Since Reggie came first...give him his due. He was a GREAT one and he had some great guys like Louis Lipps to throw to and Sammy Winder and Ricky Floyd to hand off to. And they had some rock hard defenses. He was exciting.

I can say without a doubt that as far as an all purpose QB no one was better than Reggie. It appears that Southern Miss has produced several quality players. I have been a fan for years
