Cant believe all the vancouver fanboys on here just talking BS. 1) no kicking motion 2) he was pushed into the crease by contact with the vancouver player. 3) This was the first round. Not the 6th game of the stanley cup final with the cup on the line. Relating this to the TERRIBLE call in '04 is bloody retarded. The flames, and more importantly, iginla, was robbed of the cup that year. So so sad.

Was Otto in the crease? Probably, but to me it sure looks as though he got pushed in by contact from the defenseman. After this goal Calgary fans do not have much right to complain about Game 6 against Tampa in 2004. Vancouver did put up a heck of a fight but they were lucky that this series was not over after 5 games. McLean stood on his head to win Game 1 in OT for Canucks (then got pummelled in the next 2 games) and Flames did not have Lanny MacDonald in lineup until Game 7.

Here's my question: What was Otto doing in the crease when Peplinski fired the shot? Whether he kicked it in or not, players weren't allowed to be in the crease if they didn't have possession of the puck. It should have been waved off just because of the crease rule.

Bastard Otto kicked it in. I was in the Saddle Dome when Bure won game 7 in OT in '94 and that was sweet revenge. I'll also never forget how Flames fans were complete assholes to me as a kid wearing a Canucks hat. I hope the Flames never win a Stanley Cup again. Better yet, I hope they move the franchise to Winnipeg...or even Mississippi.
