  • This is the most beautiful version I have ever heard. This does this somg justice, I sent this video to my dad. Your pipe organ sounds wonderful.

  • They do sound great through my Bose headphones. thanks

  • @x8lover Amen! Completely agree with that!

Being both Welsh and Baptist, we tend to like those harmonies at the end of verses, so truly do belt out the 'My Chains fell off, my heart was free' with fervour!

  • This hymn has always been special to me since I first learnt it as a Methodist. Quickly became my personal statement of faith - especially verse 4 about my chains falling off. Wished we anglicans would sing the harmony at the end of each verse properly. Its not the same as when Methodists sing it as they have it down to perfection.

  • I love it!!

  • @15brougham I agree, but how do you keep song or literature alive when the language becomes archaic? In this age youth want nothing to do with old. That's why all the modern bible translations - to at least get a hearing from the next generation, and maybe also to revuvenate the older generation a bit, no?

  • Cool, great hymn!

  • I love this old hymn. Great job on the organ. How long have you been playing? I played for my church (piano) for many years. I loved playing duets with the organ in my church! Good times.
