This morning around 4am I heard this fox jump the fence. My Gamo Big 1200 was already loaded with a Beeman Kodiak Match Extra Heavy pellet so all I had to do was line him up in the cross hairs and pull the trigger. I aimed for the heart and most likely got it since after being shot the fox ran about 10 feet, did a couple of fast spinning circles and dropped, kicking out it's back legs a few times before all motion stopped. This is my first fox taken with an air rifle. I bagged him up and put him on the scale. He weighed in at just over 10 pounds... Thanks for watching. killing4sport aka bigtomscience

  • What did you end up doing with the animal afterwards?

  • Atleast you aimed for the heart for a good clean kill. Not very many good respectable hunters out there anymore. Wish I couldve gotten this one. i absolutely love the coloring

  • @12snipermonkey you can't spell.

  • next time u should get a live video of u shooting it then more people will believe u and u wont have idiots saying they us there little 177 pellet gun to kill deer witch is bullshit u cant kill a deer with a normal 177 pellet gun that shoots maybe 1100fps with a 7 grain bullet

  • @Iconzgraffiti not always what happens if u shoot alittle low and u hit there jaw u then have a animal that with keep running and will probly servive till it dies of starvation

  • @Iconzgraffiti You may be right. I do agree that it was a poorly advised shot. I wouldn't try to bring down a fox at all with an air-powered.177. I'd go .223 at more than 100yds, maybe .25 or .22mag at less than 100 yds. And no ballistic tips, solids only. They leave big holes going out. Ruins too much meat and pelt.

  • @Iconzgraffiti I would agree with you if you were using a larger caliber and an actual rifle and if you weren't interested in preserving the animal. Have you ever taken a head shot, and the damn thing moves its head right after you pull the trigger and while the bullet is in flight? One little twitch can turn a kill shot into a nasty head wound. That's less likely if you aim center-mass.

  • @azimuth361 obviously if you shoot it in the head muscles will twitch but it will be dead, it wouldnt feel a thing, and i doubt he mounted this fox or even buried it, he probably left it to rot in a field somewhere

  • @azimuth361 i know what your saying, but i dont hunt for bull elk and that, i hunt for foxes, birds and rabbits, and i always shoot them in the head because i think that if you shoot an animal in the head they die instantly.

  • @chad11williams what r u talking about r u trying to say that u pee 195fps and if u have a normal air rifle there is no way u can kill a deer to kill a deer u would have trouble to kill it with a 22lr and a 22 shoots a 36-60 grain bullet at 1200-1600fps and ur pellet gun shoots probly shoots a 7-15 grain bullet at 700-1200fps and has probly a 20 ft lbs energy and a 22lr has like 135 ft lbs of energy so i dont think u killed a deer enless u have like a pcp or modified air gun
