This is a photo montage in memory of our wonderful yellow Lab. Basia was diagnosed with bone cancer in her left shoulder on June 2, 2009 and had been doing well on medication, supplements and a natural diet. We had to make the heart-wrenching decision to euthanize her on Friday, August 7, 2009, following a seizure and possibly a stroke. Earlier that same day she played outside with her ball, repeatedly "asked" for her chicken treats and "demanded" her daily walk to the park. Even when she was sick she showed incredible enthusiasm for life.

At 10 years and eight months of age, she never lost sight of the puppy within her. Basia loved to go places and to be among people. She was a big part of our family and we will never be the same without her...

  • Today marks 1 year since we let you go, sweet girl. It is so hard to believe. We think of you and talk about you often; remembering all the ways in which you touched our lives everyday, for so many years. We will keep you in our hearts always. Miss you still....M & T

  • This is nataliemay100 again and I just wanted to let you know that my husband and I were so moved by your video after losing our beloved Josie of 9 years to an infection on Aug. 11, 2009, that we got a white lab puppy who is 14 weeks old now and named her "Basia". Our hearts are still broken, but she is definitely trying to cheer us up:)

  • - Thank you for a much needed ray of light in our time of grief. What an incredible honor! We are truly touched...

  • It's been 4 weeks today since you've been gone, my sweet girl. Our hearts are still broken. We think of you and miss you each and every day. Hugs, kisses & ear rubs, Punkin!

  • I'm so sorry for your loss, we lost our chocolate lab Josie of 9 years yesterday and are devastated (8-11-09) Your montage is beautiful and made me cry.

  • - Thank you. My condolences to you as well. My family has had black and chocolate labs also throughout the years. They are wonderful companions. It just seems so unfair that their life span is so short.

  • I am sooo sorry for your loss of Basia. I just lost my boy Spencer only 8 years old to heart failure. I am having an extremely difficult time with his passing. It was always just me and him and I miss him terribly. It is like someone is ripping my heart out. Please check out my boy Spencer on my channel if you get a chance. He was my best friend and so much more than a campanion to me. He passed away on Feb 7th 2011 and I can't seem to get through the days. Thanks for sharing.

  • sorry bout your dog man...thats life tho =(

  • I am so sorry for your loss! I've been in this situation with several dogs, but by far, the worst loss was during a fire when 4 of my dogs diet (1 golden labrador named Chappy and 3 street dogs) - Viewing this video remebered what terrible moments i've been thru. Hope that you are ok now after losing Basia.

  • Hello, I just saw the video of Basia. What a sweet dog , what a loss. How are you now? I lost my labrador Youri last year on 10 may (Mothersday) and I miss him so much! He was my heartstring! Sending you a warm hello from Alice from the Netherlands.
