Vietnam Veterans receive the homecoming they never had.

Vietnam veterans were stereotyped and demonized to such a great extent that even the widows of deceased servicemen received late-night harassing phone calls. It has been said by some that at no point in our country's history have our veterans been hurt more by our own countrymen than by the enemy. For many vets, the homecoming was often a powerful first encounter that made their adjustment to civilian society more difficult. Invaders generally lose wars. The whole conflict was absolutely contrived and completely unnecessary, unethical/illegal too. The "hippies" didn't lose "us" the Vietnam war, the Vietnamese defended their land and kicked our ass, even though we had superior technology/other advantages.

I'm not condoning the assholes who spit on vets and called them baby-killers, that's fucked up and beyond disrespectful.

i will never understand how people can disrespect any soldier who is doing their duty, i would just like to thank all the servicemen who put their lives on the line everyday so we can live in a relatively peaceful state, because there will never be world peace and this is why we need our armed forces so lets be grateful for their efforts and be thankful we were not put in their situation and if people cannot do this there truly is no future for any of us !!!!!!!
