werksdesign, what u were in was a fairly ahh, 'optioned up' family car! Also came out with a 140 hp six and auto if your wallet wasn't as fat as the car. Saying that you can buy a few big block 400hp+ family cars new today from chev (can in Aus anyway so guess you can in anywhere) and in forty years people will be going how did they get these through
this was are family car in the 60's. 389 3 dues 425 hp & hurst 4 speed. I can remember my dad racing at a stop lights and my mom cruzing at over 100 mph, of course no one had set belts.
I remember seeing this car in our Arlington Heights, IL neighborhood and I was fascinated by the frosted tail lights until I saw the lights on this model were behind the back grillwork. What a nifty car - and they came in lilac mist with black interiors - ultra cool!
my mom had a 64 gp. back in the early 70s back when people junked a car because it had 40-60k mi. on it a family friend saved it from the crusher.it ran and looked great. this was back when you can buy a car for a couple grand.new now you better have a strong heart before looking at the sticker price.
