I remember years ago (in the late 70's/early 80's) a couple of farmers found some space junk on their property in the south of the south island of New Zealand, It had Russian cryllic writing on it. When the NZ government asked the Russian Government what and where it was from the NZ government was told that it wasnt Russian, Its now held by the Museum of NZ and anyone who see's it can tell it was Russian, it was even translated, something for a space craft ventilator or something off a Soyuz

That is not the Buran it is the so called Aero Buran. The real Buran was destroyed in 2002 when the roof of it's hangar collapsed.
The US and Russia should work together to develop a smaller space shuttle that is launched from a plane. A modern version of the Energia booster can be used to carry the payload required for Mars.

Russians were smart to stick to Rockets and $h1tcan the shuttle. Now if NASA could wake up and do the same they would probably save some money.
