Why didnt they need the protective seats, hans device, and all the other safety stuff? This was back when the drivers respected each other and knew the dangers they all faced. Todays drivers have almost no respect for each other and will retaliate at the dumbest points possible.

@TheJasb750 I definitely agree too man. I'm saying that look at how the cars drove back then. It was nowhere near as smooth as the guys have it today. This was when real men drove race cars. Not saying NASCAR is by any means easy, but almost anyone could get in a car and drive good laps around Daytona and Talladega now.
Holy shit look at him fight that wheel. Now thats how you dictate a good driver. Plus, look at thatm its almost like a computer chair! No headests or fancy seat shape to conform to the body. Thats crazy.

Back when race car drivers where wheelman.. setups were par at best.. they made up for it with talent and guts... 3/4 of the so called drivers today wouldnt hack it in those days...
