Maclaren USA is voluntarily recalling about 1 million strollers because of fingertip amputations and lacerations. This recall involves all Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers sold before November 2009. The strollers hinge mechanism poses a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard to the child when the consumer is unfolding or opening the stroller. This recall was reannounced in May 2011 because of additional injuries. There is a fix for this: A free hinge cover from Maclaren.
