More than 350 caregivers and dozens of the seniors and people with disabilities they care for swarmed the Capitol Campus in Olympia Tuesday to tell Washington legislators to stop cutting long-term care on Long-Term Care Day.
(Staff and lobbyists assumed that twice as many were on campus, estimating the crowd to be as big as 600.)
The caregivers, members of SEIU Healthcare 775NW, chanted loudly, marched around the Capitol, and talked to legislators about the need to stop cutting long-term care programs. Part of the solution would be to close corporate tax loopholes.
