Pollak For Congress: "Time to Represent the 9th!"
July 28, 2010
NILES, IL - The Pollak For Congress campaign released a new web ad today: "Time to Represent the 9th!"
"Performance counts," said Joel Pollak, GOP nominee for the 9th district seat. "That's why we need new leadership in Washington."
The video (available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QodJs5pH0AI) takes aim at Schakowsky for her poor performance in representing the district.
In 2009, Jan Schakowsky spent more money on earmarks for New York City than for the district she represents. The city of Evanston, which is Schakowsky's hometown, recently hired a team of five lobbyists at local taxpayer expense to make up for Schakowsky's lack of success in Washington.
The video also points out that during Schakowsky's twelve years in Congress, only one bill she authored has become law (Source: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/person.xpd?id=400360).
"I believe my job will be to represent the people to Washington, NOT to represent Washington to the people," said Pollak.

@virtualparties The answer is to offer both private and public programs, giving people a choice. Once the government takes it over, choice is gone. Before long, there's just one BAD option.
And then we have to start things all over again with private competition. Think of the USPS and public education. The only way we can keep them delivering even a modicum of decent service is by having charter schools or UPS riding herd on them! Imagine how incredibly lousy they'd be otherwise.

To the class of 2010 and beyond,
At his Town Hall mtg in August, Mr Pollack praised the privatized student loan program crippling grads with outrageous interest, huge debt etc, opposing the government's return to a direct student loan program. I wonder how many recent grads are in debt $50,000+ for your BA, and no job yet? w entry level mgmt pay starting at $8.50 hr, no kidding?
VOTE for FREEDOM from predatory loans- vote smart. There is a choice in November, and it ain't this guy.
