I think a disproportionate lack of social & educational opportunities is to blame for some of this problem in American black people. I strongly think that evolutionary psychology would agree with you that during enslavement, it was "written into your dna" to be more impressionable; additionally, your ancestors have lived in societies for much shorter time so "we" ("whites"), through con-men, liars, profiteers etc, have had more time to wipe out many of the more impressionables from our gene pool

People, regardless of race, are impressionable. It's because we're a social species. I'm not a german american, I have german ancestry, you're right, there is a difference, because unless you maintain the culture, your just american. We're just american.
