Doing high reps in something like a body pump class, I find 22lb to 31lb quite challenging. The lactic acid really starts to burn! Thanks again for your encouragement and advice. I may give the swinging version a try now!

Thanks. Using non swinging form I've been working on a pyramid starting with 60lb (max 3 reps so far!) then 53lb (max about 6) then 44lb (max about 10) then 35lb (usually about 12 max by now as arms pretty tired!). I've never had enough energy left to try going back up the pyramid yet!!!

We find that swinging the weight during the biceps curl takes emphasis off the biceps and distributes it to the rest of the body. This simulates real life situations and increases the amount of weight you can use during the movement. This increases effort and work performed during the movement. This makes you stronger over more areas and more fit globally. Trust me, your biceps will get plenty of work done.

A good old faithful this one! Interested to hear your views about the swing. I always try without. What weights would be good for this? m/f, beginnner, intermediate, advanced? Thanks.

@rolandsc suggest working your way to using standards of 15f/20m lbs each hand. Try to limit soreness and potential injury. At the same time do not limit yourself to that weight only. Good luck, my friend.
