Did you try driver 290.53 beta? This driver is almost a new experience for me.

It increased my fps by a good 5-10% in alot of my games. But the problem it might not be good for SLI, In some forums there was a user with 580 SLI and he get stuttering with them. However they are good for diagnosing the problem.

  • @Hallmark888

That's very helpful. Thank you very much.

My system bottlenecked far below 90fps damn it. I was hitting 72fps in both 1080P and 720P. Something fishy is goind on here. Hmmm...

    Anyway I'll figure it out.

  • @toutagamon

I did 720p benchmark with the same settings as above GPU is clocked at 800/1700 1.087mV and I got 90 fps avg. 75 fps min.

The CPU usage was all the time around 78-92% and it peaked at 96%.

  • @Hallmark888

That's very thorough. Thank you very much.

Your system is indeed performing better than mine, so I will have to look into it.

Still, I'd very much appreciate if you could do a run with the same settings at 720P.Just tell be the score. No need to upload it! :)

Here are the results. I oc'ed the card to the max to see if there is a limit or not. I was running at a lower overclock .

  • youtube won't allow me to post a link damn it.

  • @toutagamon Ok I will benchmark the card OC'ed, stock & 720p and give you the results ;) .

  • @Hallmark888

I have benchmarked this game with a long series of Forceware and I haven't seen any significant difference tbh.

Have you tried benchmarking it with stock clock, to see the difference?

Your 74fps is very close to my 72fps and your higher gpu load could be explained because of the lower spec card. I'm pretty sure that you will get about the same result even if you bench at 720P. ;)

  • @toutagamon Hello again :)

Have you tried newer drivers? your other video is old a little bit, it is back in September so it might be a driver issue other than a CPU bottleneck.

I am using i7 870 4.0 GHz (which is technically same as your 860) and I use the slower GTX 470 OC'ed I get 74 fps avg. & 68 fps min. And the GPU usage was around 96-99%, I am running 290.53 Beta BTW.

  • @Hallmark888

Happy new year to you too mate.

Yes I still have the 570 SLI setup. It's my main rig. The 2500k rig was not mine.

    This is my 570+860 video.

    watch?v=tMKnYeW7K30

As you can see the 860@4Ghz scored 72fps while the gpu load was not at max. With SLI I was getting about the same result. Zero gpu scaling due to severe cpu limits.

On the other hand, the 2500k system scored 105fps while the gpu usage was almost at max. That's 45% performance difference!
