No I'm from Essex, UK. I happened to be studying Mozambique when I came across your post. To be honest your version sounds fine but doesn't sound like any of the examples I had to study. i guess it doesn't matter..it's all good.

The drums sound uncontrolled and boomy which some people may like I suppose.
Don't think that's the authentic way to play Mozambique. Still, thanks for posting.

@anidroc thats largely due to the cheap microphone on the camera. It's probably not the authentic way...but it's a way! Make it your own!

What drum heads do you use? G2 over G1?

@metalliclark Yes. At the time of this video I used all Evans. I now prefer remo Emps and Ambs. But most definitely an Emad on the kick!

Wow, no my friend Mozambique was made famous by Pello 'El Afrokan", Steve Gadd learned it and decided to play it. Don't get it twisted..
