In an effort to assist our nation's small contractors who are struggling to comply with new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) lead paint abatement regulations, the U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan amendment, authored by Senator Susan Collins, to the Fiscal Year 2010 Emergency Supplemental Appropriations bill. Senator Collins' amendment would prohibit the EPA from using funds in this bill to levy fines against contractors under its new lead paint abatement rule through September 30.

  • Just wash the lead dust down with a Budweiser, tell the Extra Pretentious Assholes (EPA) to suck some chemtrail dust. This ain't about the children either, if they cared so so much about the children they would not have saddled them with trillions in national debt. Very few people have the money to renovate anyway, It just to sell lead test pens, plastic sheeting, and tyvex suits and booties

  • The EPA are a bunch of morons. These regulations are a pure example of how the EPA are inept. I will not follow any of these requirements. In fact, I will be implementing fines to the EPA for being a bunch of idiots.

  • Illinois also has an older than average housing stock.
