James Connolly did believe in world socialism, but that does not mean that he didn't knowingly and willfully go to his death as a soldier for Ireland. He led the Irish Citizen Army and signed the Proclamation of the Irish Republic. He fought for not only the political independence of Ireland, but for its economic liberty as well, to establish an Irish Socialist Republic. Socialism/Communism has never gone wrong because it has never been enacted, It requires democracy, something pretenders lack.

Well, I agree Communism in practice can turn out to be even worse than Capitalism.

Though it has to be sad that negative propaganda has been made as well. For instance, people would say Stalin is responsible for 20 million deaths. However they would count the number of deaths caused by the German invasion with it and blame it all on Stalin. That's like saying Roosevelt is responsible for 40 million deaths because he fought the Axis-powers.
