Note that despite the fact he does not speak and is not named, TF:A character designer Derrick Wyatt confirms the "little red Autobot" with Sentinel to be "Cliffjumper".

The Autotroopers get reformatted into a standardized body-mold when they sign up, as a type of uniform.

@luvDCshoes92198 It doesn't indicate any kind of relationship. It's not really any different than you and someone else driving the same model of car.

Virtually every variant/alternate name/redeco/remold of G1 Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Bumper - as well as many of the G1 Throttlebots - are homaged via the same body type. Google: 65356-9292-346

When wasp called Bulkhead a Mudflap, I was thinking that maybe that's how Mudflap, (from Micheal Bays Transformers Rise of the Fallen), got his name.

That's my guess.

Mudflap as a character name has been around for a while, since at least the blue crane in Transformers: Cybertron.
