What is Niemann-Pick Type C Disease Presentation

(VIEW FULL SCREEN) Niemann-Pick Type C Disease (NPC) simply put is FATAL. It is a genetic, neurodegenerative disorder that consequently accumulates large amounts of cholesterol and other excess fats in the cells of the liver, spleen, and brain causing progressive deterioration of the nervous system. It usually starts to affect children of school age (4-7 years old) by interfering with their ability to metabolize cholesterol. Adult onset may also occur.
