Ahhh...back in the good old days flying was a first class experience (even in coach!)
Now, everybody is treated as a potential terrorist. Back then, you used to get a genuine, "welcome aboard!" and then were personally shown to your seat. Now, some fat slag in a way-too-tight uniform grunts at you and points in some general direction to the rear of the plane. Food? there is none. Movies? bring your own. In other words...fly the flippin plane yourself!
I remember seeing the 747's take off from our back garden in ballygall road MID 1970,S. Mighty aircraft still low in the sky as we saw them 2-3 miles from EIDW.
economy class back then was like heaven! Spacious seats, lots of leg room, and amazing dining and a bar! Also that huge TV! Most airlines have completely changed that, but aer lingus still have the customer at its top priority

Great video!!! Any more footage of EI 747's lying around? My love of flying comes entirely from flying EI 747's.
