Guitarist and electronic musician Christopher Willits continues his monthly series from SoundArts studio. In this episode, he gives us a rundown of Ableton's fabulous and just-beta'd Live 8 Looper effect, then gives a preview of the very exciting Max for Live.
Tune in once a month as Christopher shows us some of the ways he produces his own music, as well as the many cool things you can do with recording software. According to Christopher, "I simply want to excite people's imaginations and creative processes so they can more easily create the sounds and music and art they love."
@TheMovieMusicMan - first of all, it's really tiring to hear people talk about "gay" as being a bad thing. It's not 1950 anymore, ok? Secondly. If hardware were forever, then less musicians would be able to make music. Hardware is really expensive, and frankly, these days it's REALLY hard to hear the difference. So please do us a favor and write something constructive here, okay?

Nice Overview! Thanks! As excited as I am about Live 8, am still a little disappointed, okay a lot disappointed about the fact you can only take the entire loop into a clip! I think that severely limits the ability to truly create via Looping! Say you create an awesome loop on the fly that has 5 parts, you will of course want to take each part separately and mix and effect it to create your music! I hope they realize this and make this change! Forever a LIVE fan!!!!

Is Live's plug-in delay compensation active while Live is getting the tempo from the looper?
