@mymelissa121 Since the new bankruptcy laws in 2005, this wouldn't go over very well anymore. I had huge credit card and student loan debt and the new rules and forms make it very very clear that student loans of any type will NOT be discharged....Nobody, including myself have a chance in hell paying them back, that was the real reason for the change in the law

I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy on private student loans and they didn't fight it so the judge allowed it, because it was just another bank just like credit card debt/unsecured debt. That was 7 years ago. Good luck!
